Entertain Your Kids This Summer With These Ideas

Summer Activities for Kids in Columbus

As the summer begins to wind down, you might be struggling to find things to entertain your kids. In Columbus, however, it seems there is always something to keep you busy and the kids entertained! Read on for a few of our favorite summer activities for kids in Columbus.

Help your little ones find their passion by trying out some hands-on activities like the Historian in Training program at Ohio History Center, the Kids Workshop at Home Depot, Art Exploration Classes at The Ohio State University Urban Arts Space, Kids Club at Michael’s, Apple Camp at Apple, and the Free Crafts for Kids at Lakeshore Learning.

You and your kids can learn how things work, and how they are made, by visiting area businesses that offer tours like  Anthony Thomas Chocolates, Phoenix Bats, the American Whistle Factory or Al’s Delicious Popcorn. Or learn about firefighting  and its history at the Central Ohio Fire Museum and Learning Center at the No. 16 Engine House.

Let your imagination run free on the Irish Fairy Doors of Dublin Trail in Downtown Dublin or enjoy the beauty all around at the Free Sundays at the Columbus Museum of Art and the Blooms & Butterflies at Franklin Park Conservatory. Take in the sounds at the PBJ&Jazz at the Topiary Garden, and while you are in Downtown Columbus, enjoy the Scioto Mile at Bicentennial Park, NEOs Playground, Carousel, Gardens and More at Columbus Commons, and the Grange Insurance Audubon Center at Scioto Audubon MetroPark.

Check out the Animal Encounter Exhibit and be sure to explore the caverns at the Olentangy Indian Caverns or Ride the Grand Carousel, take a Camel Ride, or Venture to Dinosaur Island at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Enjoy Family Friday Nights at COSI or be part of KidX at Polaris Fashion Place.

It wouldn’t be summer if you didn’t watch a movie under the stars at either the Hoot Family Film Series at Gateway Film Center or Movies by Moonlight at Easton Town Center. And, of course, you can’t miss the classic summer fun of a baseball game, so be sure to join in the fun at the Columbus Clippers Kids Club at Huntington Park.

At Trinity Homes, we are proud to call Central Ohio our home and hope that you love living here as much as we do!
