Things to do in Central Ohio

With the warm weather comes a full calendar of exciting events for the family, live music to dance along to, delicious food and more. Summer in Columbus, Ohio means Columbus Clippers baseball, walks along the Scioto Mile, exploring local MetroParks and a variety of festivals to enjoy with friends and family. Here are some of our favorite things to do in Central Ohio.

Kick off the Summer fun with Family Fun Day at the Columbus Commons, and keep the kids entertained with their weekly Commons for Kids and Movie Nights. Young and old will delight in the fireworks of Red White & BOOM (July 3)

And while Cinco de Mayo may be over, you can enjoy the Columbus Margarita Fest (May 11) and the Columbus Taco Fest (May 18). If beer is more your thing, check out Six One Pour: The Ohio Craft Brew Fest (May 18), Chicken & Beer Festival (June 1), Columbus Summer Beerfest (August 24), or the more traditional Oktoberfest (Sept 6, 7, 8). Not to be left out, wine lovers can find their new favorite at the North Market Ohio Wine Festival (July 12 and 13) and the Columbus Summer Wine Festival (Aug 24).

Enjoy the traditions of different cultures by enjoying the Asian Festival (May 25-26), Columbus PRIDE Festival (June 14-16), the Dublin Irish Festival (Aug 2-4), the Greek Festival (Aug 30-Sept 2) and the Country Living Fair (Sept 13-15). And no matter what your taste in music is like, there is something for everyone, including the Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival (May 17-19), Buckeye Country SuperFest  (June 8), Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival (June 14-16) and Breakaway Music Festival (Aug 23-24).

Central Ohio is home to some signature events that you won’t want to miss—The Memorial Tournament (May 27-June 2), the Short North Gallery Hop (first Saturday of each month), the Columbus Arts Festival (June 7-9), and Ohio State Fair  (July 24-Aug 4). The CAPA Summer Movie Series (June 14-Aug 11) is becoming a summer favorite, and Comfest (June 28-30) is the oldest community festival around.

If you are really just looking to enjoy some delicious food this summer, be sure to check out the Jazz and Ribs Fest (July 19-21), the Columbus Food Truck Festival (Aug 16-17), WonderBus Music & Arts Festival (Aug 17-18) and the Mac & Cheese Festival (Sept 27).

At Trinity Homes, we are proud to call Central Ohio our home and hope that you love living here as much as we do!
