Q: Tell us a bit about yourself. What are your favorite hobbies, and what do you like to do in your spare time?
D: I enjoy sports in general, both playing and viewing. I do a lot of reading, and I enjoy concerts and music.
Q: What does your job at Trinity Homes entail on a day-to-day basis?
D: As a sales consultant, I interact with customers as they come in to view the model homes. I describe the build and sales process, and familiarize them with the advantages of building with Trinity. If they do decide to build with Trinity, I’ll help them select a lot in the neighborhood, help them select various options and finishes and follow through with the Design Center. I’m there with them from the beginning of the building process to the time they move in.
Q: What do you like best about working at Trinity?
D: The company has been around for over 55 years. It has a great family atmosphere, and we have a multitude of people who have been with the company for over 30 years.
Q: What are some of the biggest perks of building with Trinity?
D: We can build on the owner’s own property, and we can customize homes and offer a lot of things that other builders don’t. The energy efficiency is also incredible in our homes. One of the biggest things that we offer is a 35-year fully transferable structural warranty—most builders offer a 10-year warranty.
Q: What do you like best about being a Sales Consultant?
D: The variety. You’re meeting and helping new people all the time. I sell homes in all of our communities, so I’m involved in all parts of the city. You meet a lot of interesting people you help get into a new home.
Q: What are three things everyone should know about Trinity?
D: One, they’ve been in the business for 55-plus years, and they’re a very well respected homebuilder in the community. Two, we have an extremely high quality of construction. The quality of homes we build is the highest of any builder I’ve worked for. And finally, every customer gets personalized service from all facets of our company.
Q: What was your most unusual job before working at Trinity Homes?
D: I was a part-time city councilman in my hometown of Strongsville, Ohio, in the late ’70s.
Q: Have you noticed any significant market trends among Millennials?
D: One unique feature of the Millennial buyer is they value quality over quantity—a lot of them are not looking for our largest homes but are interested in very high quality of finishes in the home.
